PhilHealth calls for public vigilance after Medusa breach
Philippines health insurer, PhilHealth, has urged the public to be vigilant in taking the relevant online security measures and safeguarding against fraudulent cyber activities following a recent data breach at the end of September. The Medusa ransomware group has been circulating obtained data to the different workstations of employees of PhilHealth after the organization refused to pay the group the $300k ransom.
PhilHealth issued an official statement over the weekend, asking all members to change online passwords, allow for multi-factor authorization, and be alert for suspicious activity in their accounts.

Crypto exchange server Upbit has announced it was targeted by hackers 159,000 times during the first quarter of this year.
This is more than double the number of hacker attacks it experienced in the same period last year. The figures were released by Dunamu, the company that operates Upbit.
