UK Claims e-Visas to be an ‘Enhanced Security’ Measure – February 12th

US DOJ Shuts Down RAT Distribution Domains

The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) announced the closure of 4 domains linked to the ‘Warzone RAT’ distribution, a remote access trojan used to attack through Equation Editor exploits.

Alongside the takedown, two individuals from Nigeria and Malta were arrested for selling and supporting the malware, and have ties to other remote access trojans.

UK Claims e-Visas to be an ‘Enhanced Security’ Measure

In the UK’s move to phase out physical immigration documents by 2025, the UK’s Home Office claims the implementation of e-Visas to be not only for convenience and cost safety but also for ‘enhanced security’.

Although not much information is known on the newly implemented e-visa, the UK Home Office claims the e-visa to be securely linked with biometric information for enhanced security measures.

Security Flaw Discovered for ‘Smart Helmets’

According to the Pen Test Brothers, Livall’s smart helmets have a critical vulnerability that could lead to credential theft.

The Livall smart ski mask flaw allows easy access to audio chats and location data through the corresponding app’s outdated six-digit security code.
