UK and US Develop Global AI Security Guidelines
The UK’s National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), in partnership with the US’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) launched the ‘Guidelines for Secure AI System Development’.
The guidelines are set to secure AI system development, to help developers make informed cybersecurity decisions at every step of the AI development process. These AI guidelines were also co-signed in cooperation with 21 other international agencies and ministries from across the world.
FTC Cracking Down on AI Voice Fraud
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced plans to protect consumers from AI voice cloning and fraud.
The FTC is looking to equip solutions to combat social engineering cyber crimes done through text-to-speech AI voice cloning technology, focused on prevention, authentication, detection, monitoring, and evaluation.
‘SysJoker’ Malware Linked to Hamas Hackers
Identified by Intezer in early 2022, the stealthy SysJoker malware is believed to be linked with the Hamas-affiliated ‘Gaza Cybergang’ threat actor group.
Upon further investigation, Check Point found that SysJoker was involved in a series of cyber-attacks targeting Israel. The malware payload employs random sleep intervals and complex custom encryption for code strings to evade detection and analysis to collect data under the radar.
Two New Jersey Hospitals Hit by Ransomware
The New Jersey-based Pascack Valley Medical Center, and Mountainside Medical Center emergency rooms are shut down due to a reported ransomware attack.The ransomware attack on the two hospital emergency rooms is part of the rising cases of cyber attacks on the US healthcare system, affecting thousands of confidential patient data.
