Syrian group behind RAT malware – August 24th

Syrian threat actor identified as creator of RAT malware

The malicious threat actor behind CypherRAT and CraxsRAT malware has been unmasked as the Syrian threat actor, EVLF. These RATS allow an attacker to control a victim’s device’s location, camera, and microphone.

18-year-old called ‘key player’ in Lapsus$ hacking group

An 18-year-old member of the Lapsus$ hacking group has been found guilty of his role in hacking into Uber and fintech firm Revolut‘s computer systems. He and a 17-year-old were called ‘key players’ in the hacking gang by prosecutors in a two-month court trial.

Cypago Raises $13M

The startup, Cypago, aims to automate compliance and governance, raised $13 million in equity led by Entrée Capital, Axon Ventures, and Jump Capital, and a further $2 million in debt financing.
