Microsoft has announced it will phase out VBScript in Windows software to block the delivery of malware.
The Windows software will be phased out – becoming an on-demand feature until it is removed.
Senior citizens targeted in Phantom Hacker scam
State security in Pennsylvania, US has warned against a new hacker scam targeting senior citizens, called Phantom Hacker.
The scam artists attempt to convince senior citizens that their accounts holding financial details have been hacked. They then suggest transferring money into an ‘alias’ account under the guise of being federal agency officials.
HelloKitty ransomware source code leaked
The source code for the HelloKitty ransomware has been leaked on a Russian-speaking hacker forum.
A user naming himself as ‘Kapuchino’ released the first variant of the HelloKitty ransomware encryptor for forum users and it is feared it will be developed into a more powerful encryptor.
