Russian Campaign Targeting UK Politics Exposed
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) in collaboration with partners from the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand revealed the Russian-state-backed threat actors terrorizing UK political systems.
The NCSC identified the group ‘Star Blizzard’ to be a subordinate to Centre 18 from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). Star Blizzard targeted UK parliamentarians, UK-US trade documents, UK think tanks, universities, journalists, and NGOs using various sophisticated phishing tactics.
Meta Launches AI Safety Project ‘Purple Llama’
Meta announced the launch of ‘Purple Llama’ an AI safety project featuring open trust and safety tools, to help developers responsibly craft AI tools, and ensure the AI products’ safety.
The initial tools within the ‘Purple Llama’ project include ‘CyberSec Eval’, a set of cybersecurity safety evaluations and benchmarks, and ‘Llama Guard’ a safety classifier for input/output filtering.
ENISA and CISA Partner to Enhance EU-US Cybersecurity Cooperation
The European Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) signed a working arrangement to tackle common cyber challenges at the EU-US Cyber Dialogue held on December 7th.
The working agreement signed by ENISA and CISA aims to boost cross-compatibility to cybersecurity regulations, and smoother bilateral information exchange to improve detection and resilience capabilities against cyber attacks.
