‘Predatory Sparrow’ Cyberattack Shuts Down 70% of Iran’s Gas Stations
Threat actor group Gonjeshke Darande, which translates to “Predatory Sparrow” claimed the cyberattacks against Iranian petrol stations, rail networks, and steel factories, according to Iranian State Media.
‘Predatory Sparrow’, speculated to be linked to Israel, explains the attack to be in response to “the aggression of the Islamic Republic and its proxies in the region”.
Joint Government Advisory on Play Ransomware
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD’s ACSC) released a joint advisory on the ‘Play’ ransomware group’s operations and attacks.
The joint cybersecurity advisory covers the ‘Play’ ransomware groups’ tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and indicators of compromise (IOCs), identified from an FBI investigation spanning since October 2023.
NATO and IBM Partner for Cyber Resilience
A cyber partnership contract between IBM and the NATO Communications and Information Agency was signed by both parties to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of the enterprises within NATO-affiliated countries.
IBM as the chosen vendor for this partnership will supply NATO with cybersecurity services to deliver custom performance-based asset configuration, patching, and vulnerability management services.
