Arriving days after law enforcement agencies took down LockBit’s servers, the ransomware gang resurfaces with a new data leak portal on the dark web.

On a public announcement of their re-launch, a LockBit administrator disclosed that their websites were confiscated, however, their operations recovered due to backup servers.

U-Haul Hit by Data Breach

U-Haul notified 67,000 customers in the US and Canada that their data was left vulnerable due to a December 2023 data breach.

The breach was made through legitimate credentials used by a threat actor to access U-Haul dealers and team member systems.

US Administration Debates Over “Open-Source” or “Closed” AI

The US Government is seeking for public comments on the risks and benefits of using “open-source” or “closed” AI systems.

The inquiry is part of an Executive Order released in October 2023 to manage the growth of artificial intelligence. The case for “open-source” AI revolves around widespread innovation, however, poses security threats.
