Rhysida’s Link to Infamous Ransomware Group
Check Point Incident Response Team (CPIRT), in collaboration with Check Point Research (CPR), published a report linking the Rhysida ransomware group to another infamous actor, Vice Society. Rhysida was responsible for the attack against Prospect Medical Holdings, affecting 17 hospitals and 166 clinics across the United States.
UK Electoral Commission Hacked
The UK Electoral Commission was the victim of a cyber attack in which details of tens of millions of voters could have been accessed by hackers. The information includes names and addresses of people in the UK who registered to vote between 2014 and 2022. However, those who qualified to register anonymously for safety or security reasons did not have their data exposed.
SphereX Raises $8 Million
The startup, which helps crypto users block suspicious transfers, aims to tackle fraudulent transactions and provide the safeguards already afforded to traditional payment systems. The seed round was led by Israel’s Aleph at a $24 million valuation and included Pillar VC, Fabric Ventures, and Mensch Capital Partners.
