Google to Remove Billions of Personal Data to Settle Privacy Case
Google agreed to remove billions of personal records amid the previously announced lawsuit, accusing the tech giant of illegal surveillance.
The personal records belong to approximately 136 million Google Chrome users. To add to the settlement, Google will add more disclosures of the terms for their ‘incognito mode’ feature.
Florida Pediatric Associates Hit by Data Breach
Florida Pediatric Associates (FPA) announced a data breach, which resulted in leaked health information due to threat actors infiltrating the Bowden Barlow Law firm.
Bowden Barlow Law informed FPA of the breach in December 2023. However, the scope of the leaked files remains unknown.
Google Blocks Mass Email Senders to Prevent Phishing Attacks
In accordance with an October 2023 Google announcement, the tech giant started automatically blocking emails that send over 5,000 messages if they don’t meet the new criteria.
Google now requires these bulk email senders to set up SPF/DKIM and DMARC email authentication for their domains to prevent unsolicited or illicit messages.
