Fraudulent LinkedIn Profiles Targeting Saudi Workers for Corporate Data Leaks
Revealed in a presentation at last month’s Black Hat Middle East and Africa conference, was a corporate information leak tactic targeting Saudi Arabian workers using fraudulent LinkedIn profiles.
The LinkedIn attacks start with fraudulent accounts pretending to be Muslim women in their 20s who say they work in Southeast Asia. Once the connection is made, attempts to harvest sensitive corporate information through long, seemingly legitimate professional conversations ensue.
Norton Healthcare Hit by Ransomware Attack
Norton Healthcare announced that they were hit by a ransomware attack, leaving the data of millions of patients and employees vulnerable.
Norton reported the attack to law enforcement stating that the ransomware group ALPHV/BlackCat claimed the sensitive data stolen.
Toyota Financial Services Europe Reports Ransomware Attack
The European branch of Toyota Financial Services (TFS) released a notice to affected customers, regarding their data being vulnerable due to a ransomware attack.
FTS also reported that Medusa, the ransomware group claiming the attack is demanding $8M in exchange for stolen data which includes bank details, contracts, passwords, names, and addresses.
