Accenture Acquires Innotec Security for Undisclosed Amount
Accenture announced the acquisition of Spanish-based cybersecurity-as-a-service firm Innotec Security for an undisclosed amount.
Innotec Security, founded in 2002, specializes in cyber resilience and cyber risk management. The acquisition positions Accenture Security to become the top-managed security service in Spain.
67% Deficit in Cybersecurity Workforce Reported
ICS2 reported that the demand for the cybersecurity workforce far exceeds the supply, with roughly four million more cybersecurity professionals required to fully safeguard digital assets.
Despite the reported cybersecurity workforce deficit, ICS2’s report also shows an improvement in the cybersecurity workforce’s growth this year, with 5.5 million total professionals, an 8.7% increase from 2022, representing 440,000 new jobs.
EU Bans Meta’s FB and IG Targeted Advertising
Imposed by the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (DPA), the European Data Protection Board announced its latest extension on the temporary ban of Meta’s Facebook and Instagram’s targeted advertising for data privacy purposes.
The Norwegian DPA explained that Meta apps use content preferences based on user posts and location information to create personalized advertising targeting, which poses a threat to data privacy.
