EU and Ukraine Partner to Boost Cybersecurity
The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) signed a Working Agreement with Ukraine’s Administration of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSSCIP) to boost cybersecurity efforts.
The Working Agreement signed by ENISA and SSSCIP will focus on the EU supporting Ukraine in its efforts to protect itself from geopolitically-fueled cyber attacks from Russian threat actors through improving critical infrastructure, cybersecurity skills, and capacity building.
Rising Infostealing Malware Attacks in Gaming
Sekoia.io has revealed in a report, an infostealer malware campaign carried out through Discord, targeting gamers.
The report states that the attacks are done through fraudulent website URLs, luring gamers to avail of a fake promotion for the games they play. Sekoia.io also identified the suspects to be from info-stealer groups Doenerium and Epsilon Stealer.
$60M Stolen Through Ethereum Feature
Scam Sniffer has reported several cases of the exploitation of Ethereum’s ‘Create2’ feature, enabling $60M worth of Ethereum to be stolen, affecting 99k victims.
The ‘Create2’ is a recent Ethereum feature, launched to create smart contracts on the blockchain. Scam Sniffer explained that Create2 has been abused to generate fresh contract addresses, bypassing wallet security alerts and fooling users into signing these seemingly legitimate, non-reversible contracts/transactions.
