Eagers Automotive Stock Trading Halted by Cyberattack
Eagers Automotive announced it was hit by a cyberattack, which halted the company’s stock trading while impacting its operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Eagers Automotive is now working together with the Australian Cyber Security Centre and the New Zealand National Cyber Security Center to further investigate the cyberattack and will notify its customers of any further data breach concerns.
Microsoft Disables ‘MS-AppInstaller’ Due to Malware Distribution Abuse
Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence team announced shutting down the ‘ms-appinstaller protocol handler’ as this was found to be abused by threat actors for malware distribution.
Threat actors abuse the Microsoft app installer through the sale of malware which leverages the MSIX file format and the ms-appinstaller protocol handler, thus increasing accessibility of malware distribution via Microsoft Teams or malicious ads.
Cyberattack Halts Albanian Parliament Data System
Albania’s Parliament announced it was hit by a cyberattack targeting its data system, resulting in halting the Parliament’s services.
The Albanian Parliament assured that although disrupted, the data was not encrypted by the threat actors and that their services would go back online soon.
