68% of Organizations Face Additional Risks Due to Cybersecurity Skills Shortages
A Fortinet report disclosed that 68% of organizations are facing risks brought about by cybersecurity skills shortages. In addition, 83% of organizations suggested increasing cybersecurity department headcounts.
The data from the Fortinet report stemmed from a survey with security professionals from the North America, Europe, and MENA regions. The Fortinet survey aims to shed light on how organizations are improving cybersecurity preparedness.
CISA Systems Shut Down Due to Third-Party Breach
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) confirmed that two of its systems were voluntarily shut down due to a breach stemming from Ivanti vulnerabilities last month.
Despite the successful attack mitigation, CISA claims to upgrade and modernize its systems to avoid breaches of this nature in the future.
Maximum Severity Flaw Found in OpenEdge Software
OpenEdge released technical specifics and a proof-of-concept (PoC) for a maximum severity vulnerability on their software, which could allow threat actors to bypass authentication protections to deploy new illicit applications.
The maximum severity rating for the CVE-2024-1403 OpenEdge vulnerability affects versions 11.7.18 and earlier, 12.2.13 and earlier, and 12.8.0 of the software.
