CISA Signs Cybersecurity MoU with the Republic of Korea

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) to establish collaboration efforts under the bilateral Cyber Framework between the US and the Republic of Korea signed in April.

The framework between the Republic of Korea and the US includes sharing technical and operational cyber threat information and best practices in cyber crisis management.

ICBC Informs Clients to Reroute Trades After Cyber Attack

The Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, Ltd. announced it was hit by a cyber attack that is preventing the bank from clearing swathes of trades, leaving its US clients vulnerable. 

ICBC advises US-based brokers and traders to reroute transactions to minimize risk. The bank is currently still investigating the extent of the attack’s impact in collaboration with the FBI and Mandiant, who suspect the attackers to be the LockBit ransomware group.

US Radiology Fined $450k for Cyber Compliance Failure

The New York Attorney General’s office fined US Radiology Specialists $450k for failure to secure their security systems prior to a 2021 ransomware attack, leaving 200,000 patient records vulnerable.

The New York Attorney General’s office claims US Radiology failed to secure its SonicWall system, the entry point of the attack.
