XONA Raises $18M in New Funding

XONA Systems, Inc. announced that it raised $18M in new funding to expand its industrial zero-trust cybersecurity capabilities to meet increasing regulatory requirements.

Aside from expanding their current software capabilities, they plan to use the funds to expand their team and further support the energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, and government industries.

 

Adobe Applies Patches to Critical Flaws

Yesterday, June 11th, Adobe announced that they rolled out security patches for 6 critical vulnerabilities affecting Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

According to Adobe, the vulnerabilities could have led to successful arbitrary code execution and/or memory leaks in the current user’s context.

 

Best Physical Therapy Hit by Data Breach

Best Health Physical Therapy (Best Health) announced that it was hit by a data breach due to a cyber attack discovered on February 26th.

Not much is known about the attack, such as what data was stolen and how the systems were breached. This cyber incident is currently still under investigation.

Criminal use of AI enters new and dangerous phase

Cybercriminals have just added what may be the most dangerous weapon yet to their arsenal of illegal software, a Dark Web version of legitimate artificial intelligence (AI) platforms. Tel Aviv-based network security company, Cato Networks, has uncovered an emerging criminal platform called Nytheon AI that it says is “a fully-fledged illicit AI platform”. While there have been other attempts to offer criminal versions of popular AI models, Nytheon AI is the first truly comprehensive multilingual offering. Threat actors can now use the platform to conduct a variety of attacks including tailored spear-phishing campaigns, deepfake documents, and polymorphic malware capable of constantly mutating its appearance.
