New malware hides behind OfficeNote app
A new variant of Apple macOS malware has surfaced, disguised as the popular Microsoft productivity app OfficeNote. Called XLoader, the malicious code is bundled inside a standard disk image carrying the note OfficeNote.dmg.
Hosting firm refuses to pay ransom to threat actors
A Danish hosting firm, overseeing CloudNordic and AzeroCloud, has reported losing all of its customer data following a ransomware attack. Reports have claimed that the firm’s IT team has restored the servers, but they are still without data. The firm previously stated it would not pay the threat actors ransom.
Cybersmart announces $15 million series B funding
An all-in-one cyber platform and insurance platform tailored for the needs of SMEs, Cybersmart claims to have 4,000 customers in its home market of the UK, almost half of which also utilize their insurance offering. Oxx leads the funding which includes participation by British Patient Capital, Legal & General Capital, and Solano Partners.
