34% of Organizations Lack Cloud Cybersecurity Skills

According to a Cado Security report, 34% of organizations lack cloud cybersecurity skills.

The report also discloses that 23% of cloud alerts remain uninvestigated due to various challenges and complexities.

 

Password-Only VPN Accounts At Risk

Check Point Security revealed on a May 27th blog post that they identified login attempts for old VPN accounts that relied on password protection.

The blog post further dives into the dangers of relying on passwords for protection, especially for VPNs.

 

Transcend Raises $40M for Series B Funding

Transcend announced raising $40M in Series B funding led by StepStone Group, 01 Advisors (01A), Accel, HighlandX, Index Ventures, Script Capital, and South Park Commons.

The Series B funding will be used for building its unified privacy and data governance platform to help organizations of all sizes to manage personal data, assess risks, automate privacy tasks, and manage AI systems.

Criminal use of AI enters new and dangerous phase

Cybercriminals have just added what may be the most dangerous weapon yet to their arsenal of illegal software, a Dark Web version of legitimate artificial intelligence (AI) platforms. Tel Aviv-based network security company, Cato Networks, has uncovered an emerging criminal platform called Nytheon AI that it says is “a fully-fledged illicit AI platform”. While there have been other attempts to offer criminal versions of popular AI models, Nytheon AI is the first truly comprehensive multilingual offering. Threat actors can now use the platform to conduct a variety of attacks including tailored spear-phishing campaigns, deepfake documents, and polymorphic malware capable of constantly mutating its appearance.
